Picturepark to launch new version 8.2

Swiss based DAM vendor Picturepark announces its new version 8.2. With the new Picturepark Creative Connector users can open and save back assets from Picturepark directly in Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign. When saving back, the user can select to update the original asset by replacing it with or without versioning, or save it as a new asset. When save as a new asset is performed, all metadata and rights from the original asset are automatically transferred to the new asset.

Additionally, in the corresponding panels in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign, all relevant information and metadata regarding the used Picturepark assets is displayed. This information can be defined by the administrators. What is new about that? Even “simple” DAM products like ELVIS have this for years. How do these companies plan to make a profit when they have to compete against products such as Xinet, ELVIS, Portfolio even?

Perhaps one more or less unique feature is the new Picturepark Creative Connector preflight mode, which makes it easy to see if links have changed locally or on the Picturepark system while working on the job. It will also allow to synchronize the files in the Picturepark Panel of InDesign.

Picturepark is a web-based application offered as SaaS/Cloud or perpetual license. Picturepark manages all popular rich media files (images, layout documents, illustrations, videos and sound files) and allows users to easily find, preview, collaborate and share these digital assets across any organization (inter/intranet). Offering extensive user rights and permissions all digital assets are kept under control, shared with authorized parties only.

Picturepark is considered a “3rd generation”-DAM solution by supporting deep integration into existing environments and by providing efficient workflow support, multi-lingual taxonomy as well as rich multi- tenant capabilities.

Picturepark is developed by Vision Information Transaction Inc. with offices in San Francisco, Vienna, Hyderabad and headquarters in Switzerland.
